Palma de Mallorca, 11th June 2019. It hasn’t even been open for 6 months, but Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden, the iconic 5-star Grand Luxury establishment with 24 suites, has once again been awarded internationally. The hotel that is revolutionising Palma de Mallorca’s Old Quarter was a finalist at last week’s gala in New York to reveal the winners of the 15th Edition of the HOSPITALITY DESIGN AWARDS, which each year choses the hotel industry’s best international design projects.
Mikael Hall, the owner of Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden, went to New York and at various times he was invited on stage at the gala, as the beautiful Mallorcan accommodation won the most awards on the night, with a total of 3 awards in the categories of: Luxury Public Space, Luxury Guestroom and Restoration and Transformation, as well as being a finalist in the Luxury Hotel category.
This Mallorcan gem, constructed from an XVI century townhouse, was renovated by the award-winning international architecture and interior design studio, OHLAB, led by Paloma Hernaiz and Jaime Oliver. The studio continues to break moulds with its innovative proposals and services, while at the same time accumulating national and international recognition. Along those lines, it is worth remembering that just over a month ago Can Bordoy was included in the Hot List of Condé Nast Traveller magazine as one of the Best New Hotels in the World 2019.
